To make a payment you log in on www.paypal.com . U see a form in which you can fill in the amount of money and the email address of the receiver. The receiver gets an email with the massage that the amount of money you filled in is now on his or her paypal account (including transaction number) U receive an email with a confirmation of your money transfer and the same transaction number as the receiver.  

By using your own bank account you can transfer money to your Paypal account of transfer the money from you Paypal account back to your bank account. It’s also possible to link a credit card to your Paypal account.
